The collections often stem from elaborations on simple principles of architecture, geometry and classic tailoring techniques, with attentiveness to fabrication, “up-cycling” innovation as well as the integration of couture traditions.
All garments are produced locally and designed with sustainability in mind. FAREN is devoted to being a valued company that respects the environment and contributes to the well being of the local communities.

FUTUROLOGY
AWARD-WINNING DEBUT COLLECTION FW 2009

The world as we know it is a limitless circle of life; but we, as humans, have taken the natural world for granted. We assume resources are for our comsumption and finacial gain, endless and forever giving; our earth is distrupted by the human cancer.
We waste, we take more than what we need and we rarely give back. But, what if we could be living in harmony with nature? What if we took design advice from the organisms in our environment? We could be doing better, desgining smarter, living a healthier life that belongs and co-exists with nature.
This is my Futurology, FW 2009 is inpsired by eco-architechture. Buildings that are designed based on the environmental factors (passive solar heating and cooling, weather patterns, and terrain). It is a new way of living and building, and designing for the future that is sustainable.

Concept
GEHRY
The
The FW’12 collection concept is inspired by Canadian born international architect, Frank Gehry, who is known for his deconstructivism and modern cubist style. Gehry transforms architecture “…from a conventional science into a sublime and majestic form of art”. He
is responsible for some of the worlds greatest works of architecture that incorporate form, function, colour, and texture in an awe inspiring structure.
Form, function and colour are featured throughout the FW’12 collection, the graphic shapes and the use of unconventional materials like wood, and aluminum mesh sculpt shapes and textures that are reminiscent of Gehry’s work. The rich rustic copper compliments the regal green and blue-violet colour palette. The use of colour-blocking is a form of the modern cubist style with a twist of deconstructivism all within thinking about the end wearer and how the versatility is constructed into such pieces in this collection.
