Alongside my current job title as a trend forecaster, I have worked for a decade as a fashion designer and design manager; overseeing manufacturing of production as well as managing the design teams through-out the design process (from concept, to sample, into production) and aiding in standardizing quality assurance.
More recently, I have supported the design development and launch of several brands including my namesake collection (FAREN) which won the award and title of “...next name in fashion” from ELLE Canada magazine in 2009. As a solo-proprietor I learnt how to navigate the fashion landscape by constantly being proactive and solution driven in order to predict problems and resolve delays.
In addition to this real-world industry experience, I hold a Masters in Fashion Trend Forecasting from Polimoda (Florence, Italy) and a Bachelor in Fashion Design from Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada).
My skills and talents do not stop at fashion; as a creative individual my proficiencies extend into home interior, woodworking, marketing, and content creation for YouTube. Not to mention, I have a love for carpentry, furniture design, and architecture - it is after all, where I find much of my inspiration in developing my namesake collections.
